The Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, has warned students to desist from selling of hostel space to avoid punishment.
It has come to our notice that students are still buying and selling bedspace after releasing an official statement that is is illegal and will not be tolerated this year.
We are going to keep this fraudulent act on check and since we have deemed it illegal . Anyone caught will have to face the court of law or asked to pay a fine and would be sent out of the school with immediate effect
It has also come to my notice that some students are saying this is what we say every year. I am happy to tell you that they should try it this year and go ahead and see what danger lurks ahead
That is one of the reason we are renovating the hostels so we can have a clearer view on who is an illegal participant
No Squatters are allowed to stay in the hostel
Also, I am surprised that parents support this act of buying and selling bedspace.
We always complain about government officials being corrupt why don't we check ourself first
We would make sure there is nothing of such this year as we have set up preventive measures at Angola Hall, Mozambique Hall, Faj Hall, Etf , Moremi so it can be easier for them to be caught
