(4ai)
Boyle’s Law state that the volume of a given mass of a gas is inversely proportional to its pressure, provided that the temperature remain constant.
i.e V ∝ 1/P
V = K/P
PV = K
(ii)
(4bi)Given
Y, =500cm^3
P1=6.5X10^4Nm^2
T2=273
V2=7
P1V1 = P2V2
-------- ---------
T1 = T2
V2= P1V1T2
------------------
P2 T1
V2= P1V1T2
---------------------
P2 T1
V2=6.5X10^4X500X273
-------------------------
1.0X10^5X303
V2= 8822500000
---------------------
30300000
=292.8CM^3
1.0X10^1CM^2
T1=2,73+60
=303√√

(bii)
An inflated balloon expands in warm water because the Air particle in the balloon acquire more kinetic energy. there is an increase in the pressure inside the balloon and in order to keep the pressure constant, the balloon expand.
(4ci)
Hard Water is a water which will not readily form lather with soap.
(cii)
– Calcium Tetraoxosulphate (vi) CaSO4
– Magnesium Hydrogen (MgH2)
– Trioxocarbonate (iv) CO3
(ciii)
– Addition of washing soda crystal (Na2CO3)
– Addition of Calculated amount of calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2
(5a)
(i) Normal Salt are salt formed wen all the replaceable hydrogen ion in the acid have been completely replaced by metallic ions.
(ii) Acid Salt are salt formed when the replaceable hydrogen ions in acid are only partially replaced by a metal.
(iii)Examples of Normal salt:NaCl, ZnSO4
Example of acid salt:KHSO4
(5bi) sulphur, oxygen
(5ci) hygroscopic are substance which absorb moisture when expose to the atmosphere, and it will not form solution but become sticky
(5cii) carbon
(ii)oxide CO
hydrogen sulphide
sulphure
(iv)oxide SO2
(6a)physical properties of diamond
-No,conductor of electricity
-it is hard
physical properties of graphite
-graphite is soft and flake easily
-good conductor of electricity
(6aii)two uses of diamond
-for cutting glass and metal
-for making jewelries
-industrially in drill for mining
(6aiii)graphite and diamond have similar chemical properties e.g the both burn in plentiful supply of air to produce carbon
(iv)oxides
C(s)+O2(g)-CO2(g)
(6bi)component of producer gas are:
CO and N2
component of water gas:
H2 and CO
(6c)water gas is a better fuel than producer gas it component gases are all combustible while the Nitrogen content of producer gas is not combustible
(7bi)Reaction with metal–> acid react with same metal like Zinc ion and magnesium
(7bii) Reaction with base–> acid react with insoluble base and alkalis to form salt and water as the only products
(7biii) Reaction with trioxocarbonates
(iv)to liberate carbon
(iv)oxide
